About iFortaleza
iFortaleza is an independent travel guide for Fortaleza and Ceará, Brazil. It exists because most English-language information about Fortaleza is either thin, out of date, or written by people who have never actually been there.
The site is aimed at international visitors - people planning a first trip to Fortaleza, visitors coming from other parts of Brazil who want an outside perspective, and travelers passing through Ceará with limited time and specific questions.
What we cover
Fortaleza is a large city with distinct neighborhoods, a long urban coastline and easy access to some of the best beaches in Brazil. The site covers the city itself - where to stay, what to eat, how to get around, which beaches suit which kinds of visitors - and the wider state of Ceará, including common day trips and longer routes along the coast.
How information is researched and verified
Local information changes. Restaurant hours shift. Beaches change. Transport options evolve. Where possible, we include a "Last checked" date on pages that contain time-sensitive details. This gives you a sense of how current the information is and helps us track what needs updating.
We do not invent facts or fabricate experiences. If something cannot be confirmed, we say so rather than guess. We prefer to leave a question open than to fill it with inaccurate information.
Who runs this site
iFortaleza is an independent project. It is not affiliated with any hotel group, tour operator, airline or local business unless explicitly stated on the relevant page.
See our Editorial Policy for more detail on how content is produced and reviewed.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site may carry advertising and affiliate links. Where affiliate relationships exist, they are disclosed. Advertising does not influence editorial decisions about which places to cover or how they are described. See our Advertising Disclosure and Affiliate Disclosure for more information.
