What is Fátima like?
Fátima is a centrally located residential area between Benfica and Aldeota. It grew up around the Santuário de Nossa Senhora de Fátima: after the pilgrim statue of Our Lady of Fátima visited the city in 1952, a church was built on donated land.
On the 13th of every month the faithful fill Avenida 13 de Maio. On 13 May a large procession goes from the Igreja do Carmo in Centro to the sanctuary.
